Hello I am Mrs. Sanchez and have been appointed the new Principal here at Twin Lakes Elementary School (TLE). I am from Tohatchi and this will be my 24th year in the educational field. I’m very serious about education and I look forward to our partnership to provide our students with a rigorous, engaging, and high-quality learning school experience. As the parent myself, I know the importance of a strong home-school connection. Parents are every child’s first teacher and I believe that by working together, we can ensure your child’s social, emotional, and academic needs are met.
My two main goals are to ensure that every student is present and is provided the highest quality of education possible in a safe and supportive learning environment. Working together as a team with our staff and parents, I am committed to helping each student achieve their very best. Every student is valued and worthy of our best effort. I believe that great schools are the results of great parents and great teachers, so my primary objective will be to ensure that every student is receiving high-quality instruction from every teacher at TLE.
We want you to join us in making this the very best experience for your children. Being informed will help. You are invited to attend our parent meetings and family nights. Throughout the year our school website, periodic calendars, and newsletters, etc. will attempt to provide you with the most current information. However, many times you will have questions. Please do not hesitate to contact me, the front office , or any of our teachers at 505-721-5100.
I have developed many philosophies over time, with each new experience and the knowledge I gain from every school setting and students I encounter, however my critical and necessary philosophy is the one of respect, I ask that students Respect themselves, Respect their work and Respect their school. We show respect to ourselves by having a positive and respectful attitude, attire, language and behavior. We show respect to our work by completing assignments, participating in class and earning passing grades. We show respect to our school by showing respect to the teachers, the staff, the school building and following school policies and procedures.
I am looking forward to many great years ahead and reaching school success. Soaring High, Mrs. Sanchez
REMINDERS: Tardy(ies) and Early Checkouts
Student are expected to be on time to class. there are, however times when it is not in the child's control and the student may arrive late. students arriving late to school after 7:55 A.M. will need to sign-in at the office before entering the classroom. Five Tardy(ies) will equal one unexcused absence. After a student is tardy(ies) three times or more in two-weeks span, the school will contact the family with notice of concern. The same is relevant for chronic early checkouts within one week. Students who are checked out early often, miss out on important instruction. Excessive tardiness and early checkouts will result in a referral to the SAT to be placed on attendance contract. If students tardy(ies)/ early checkouts continue, the Attendance Committee will meet with parents/guardians to determine next steps to re-mediate continuous tardy(ies)/ early checkout and/ or to initiate school-district hearing authority contract; and if necessary a Social Service referral (CYFD)
